October Unprocessed Begins

The kids and I got ready for one month of no processed foods by making our bread.  Tomorrow Chris will take this and turn part if it into breadcrumbs for the homemade chicken nuggets for the kid's lunch boxes.

Good luck to us!

Garden Update

This is our giant spider that spins a HUGE web every night which I am afraid I will walk into one day.

I made kale chips.  The family did not like them.  I did but figured I'd cut my losses and feed it to my animal buddies.

And a zinnia from Bella's garden.

Dinner time

I'm not a big fan of making dinner during the week so I am training the children to do it.  Tonight they made breaded chicken cutlets.

Luciano and Bella's first day of school

He was a little nervous this morning but it turned out to be a good day.  Tomorrow, naps are being eliminated.

Getting ready for winter

Today it was crazy hot here again so I needed to find something to do inside.  I decided to get ready for winter by drying and freezing my herbs.  After I was done, I realized, I live in LA and my herbs stay fresh all year round.  Oh well at least I was inside.

Drying herbs upside down in the kitchen.

Herb ice cubes for making stews and other hearty foods.  I kid myself, I don't cook and Chris will probably go for the fresh versions.
