Nesting

So the bunny I rescued 30 days ago is showing signs of nesting.  MAYBE.......

Free Dress Day

Bella has free dress day once a month at her school.  I surprised her the other day with this super cute dress.  She was so excited to pose for a pic this AM but her brother decided to tackle her instead.

Pink Eye = Day Off!

"Hey Dad, look,  I have a boogie in my eye."  My reaction, yeah and it is bright pink, let's go to Urgent Care for meds.

The next day Luciano has to go to work with Dad.  I dressed him in his shop outfit.  Luciano grabs his drill.

We finally painted the kids room and rearranged a few things.  It looks great and the kids are thrilled that their heads are in the same direction so they can chat at night.  I'm starting to think that was a bad idea, but we shall see.

20 miles

Yesterday I did my last long run before the marathon.  10 miles out took me to LAX and 10 miles back home.  I learned a few things along the way.

Hanging out

Eden came over to play today.  Bella was a bit sick so she had to rest in her room while....

Luciano and Eden shared a lot of fruit snacks

All in all, it was a good day.  Thanks for hanging with us.

Fantasia

Luciano's drawing age 3 years 10 months

Luciano LOVES to draw.  He can spend hours entertaining himself.  Lately, his drawing have turned in to stories, some he makes up, some he pulls from memory.  Here is his representation of Fantasia.  If you don't remember it, it is the movie where Mickey puts a spell on the broomsticks to carry buckets of water.

Valentine Card's How-To

V Day Conference 2012

Chris and I wanted to take a night off and attend a very important V Day conference.  We made arrangements for the kids and headed off to D Land where we were planning on doing fun stuff that kids would find very boring.  (Note: Bella can read and looks at the pics on this blog)

Oh and the conference was in the desert.

And they had us do those trust challenges (on a roller coaster)

and we hung out on main street and watched inspiration lights in the sky (fireworks)

and off to the 5-star restaurant for a nice quiet meal.   Nice job dad with the camouflage pin that says, "I'm Celebrating".

I have a problem...

I like to go to fancy hotels and pretend to run out of product so I can get more for home.  I TOTALLY scored this trip!

My Little Pumpkin Head

Although it is not Halloween, Luciano has taken to dressing up as a pumpkin.  BTW this costume is for 12 months, can believe he still fits in it.

Ballona Creek Bike Path - starting to see the potential

Ok, so I am starting to see the potential of the Ballona Creek bike path.  Yesterday I was invited to a friend's house who lives on the beach in Playa Del Rey.  My car was in the shop and Chris didn't offer up his car for the outing.  (Not sure what was up with that but I figured, what the heck, I'll ride my bike.)  It was 7 miles from the house and the path took me straight there in about an hour.

It was perfect timing, I wanted to be off the path by sunset.  Of course, I arrived to the dinner party sweaty and my face was covered in bugs but it was a great ride.

The ride home was fun too but I took the streets for that one.

Bella gets a GREAT Report Card!

Bella did a a great job on her report card so she was able to pick a restaurant to celebrate at.  We went out for sushi and had fried ice cream.

Spending Freeze is Over

Kids FINALLY get to have a snack at Starbucks and they were happy.

Running 12 miles along Ballona Creek

Today I decided to take the bike path along Ballona Creek to run to the ocean.  It is a path along the concrete channel that used to be a creek.  I haven't tried it because it always seems unsafe.  But I have noticed that more people seem to be down there now that they have rehabbed it.

Well, I learned they only did the rehab in the area closer to Culver City and the ocean.  Under the first underpass by my house, there are two homeless guys who set up an elaborate living situation.  I decided to run on by.

When you get closer to Culver City, you see greens and birds.

And more birds sitting on the garbage collector that stretches the creek.

I'll run this again because I didn't have to stop at intersections and from my house I only have to stop at one traffic light.  Makes a difference when you have a long way to go.
